Testing time for Rob on Kawasaki’s Spanish dealer tour

Knowing all about our motorbikes, and riding them, is key to our customer service experience.

Sometime it means going to great lengths.

Director Rob Walters flew all the way to Spain for a Kawasaki dealer tour to experience the latest supercharged models including the H2 SX and H2 SX SE sport tourer models and supernaked ZH2.

Based in Torremolinos in Andalusia, southern Spain, representatives from 25 UK and three Danish Kawasaki dealers experienced the effortless performance delivered by the 200PS 998cc, four-cylinder engine.

They also got to grips with the Bosch-developed Advanced Rider Assistance Systems on the H2 SX models. ARAS has sensors at the front and back of the motorbike for the adaptive cruise control and blindspot detection.

Covering around 400km over two days of riding, it was a comprehensive test ride.

Rob said: “It was all about getting a feel for what the supercharged bikes can do, comparing the different models and trying out the radar cruise control. We had 10 to 15 motorbikes in a line, with a lead bike and the rest following at various speeds to try it out.”

So what did he think of the supercharged Kawasakis?

“I like the effortless power but they’re also very fuel efficient and have lots of gizmos and standard electronic systems.

“Radar cruise control might be the sort of thing you think you don’t need but, once you’ve used it, it’s very nice to have for long-distance rides and cruising. It works really well in traffic.”

And, trying to make it sound like a tough job, Rob pointed out that the weather had been better in the UK than in Spain which was dry but very windy when he was there!
