Riding the trail from dawn to dusk

We like to be able to give customers the full picture about our bikes and that means putting them through their paces and talking from experience.

So our intrepid trio of director Rob Walters, general manager Dave Forster and workshop technician Ben Towner have been getting to grips with off-roading with the help of Suffolk Trail Riders.

Now they’re preparing for their next challenge – the Dawn Till Dusk ride on Saturday 23 July.

The guided run, for small groups of riders, sets off from the Cambridgeshire/Essex border and goes up to North-West Norfolk before looping back.

The 260-mile ride, through Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, takes in 80 green lanes. Riders are looking to complete it in under 10 hours.

Rob and Dave will be riding KTM 250 EXC enduros and Ben a KTM 790 Adventure.

And green lane trail riding is a new experience for all of them and far removed from track days.

A customer, who is a member of Suffolk Trail Riders, encouraged the trio to do a two-day off-road riding event. They enjoyed it so much they entered this more demanding one-day challenge.

Dave said it would give them a fuller understanding of the KTMs’ off-road ability which they could share with customers.

“We’ve not actually got much experience of using the KTMs off road. It’s all about giving even better customer service and having some fun in the process.”
