Motorcycle Live was a real eye-opener for us at Orwell Motorcycles with lots of attention-grabbing new models from our three franchises.
Dave Willis and new business partner Andrew Jay attended trade day at the annual show at Birmingham NEC in late November.
Dave said: “It was good to see so many people there. It was as busy as I have seen it for the last few years.”
Our three manufacturers were busy too, revealing new models at the show.
Dave really wanted to see Suzuki’s new 398cc single-cylinder DR-Z4S dual sport motorbike and DR-Z4SM supermoto because he owned a DR-Z400 which became his ‘go-to’ bike for a variety of riding.
“It was fun to ride, on and off road. You could go anywhere on it.”
The latest DR-Z4S and SM are set to be big hits, given the popularity of new retro 400 class middleweight motorbikes.
KTM is also getting in on the act with the new 390 Adventure X and R, 390 SMC R supermoto and 390 Enduro R.
“The DR-Z was the one I really wanted to see but I am also excited about the new KTM 390 Adventure R. I do have a bit of a mid-range, off-road bike fetish,” he explained.
Even more so given he hopes to ride some of the Trans Euro Trail next year on a smaller off-road bike so there will be even more choice.
Kawasaki’s show highlights included the new Ninja 1100SX SE and Z900 while KTM’s stars included the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo and 990 RC R supersport.
We’re excited about getting the new models in the showroom and will share more details when they are announced.
