Mark Trench put heavily-revised versions of three highly-anticipated new Kawasakis through their paces on the dealer launch in Spain.
Our new dealer principal jetted into Alicante Airport for the launch of the 2025 Z900 supernaked, Ninja 1100SX SE sport tourer and Versys 1100 SE adventure tourer.
After a short hop to Gran Alacant resort, they picked up the new motorbikes and headed to the mountains a half-hour ride away.
Sounds perfect but the weather on the Saturday was truly atrocious with temperatures down to 3C… sounds more like England!
“We had a very wet first day for riding and it got very cold. The second day was much better weather and the roads were striking.”
Mark and his dealer friends, old and new, enjoyed putting the new models through their paces.
“The Versys 1100 really surprised me the most because, although it has similar looks, there are lots of changes to the way it rides.
“The engine has more power and that felt very different.”
He is also a fan of the new Z900 which gains a quick-shifter and cruise control.
“I love how the new Z900 looks more aggressive. It’s a great bike to ride through tight bends.”
The Ninja 1100SX SE is a new specification and, over the standard model, gains Brembo brake callipers and an Öhlins rear shock absorber.
“The Ninja 1100SX SE gets more powerful brakes and upgraded suspension which are apparent by the way it rides. It’s taken a step up in quality.
“The standard suspension is more than enough most of the time but, when those twisty roads were dry, the SE’s suspension came into its own.”
