Bigger is better for Kawasaki’s popular sport tourer

Kawasaki has unveiled the new 2025 Ninja 1100SX sport tourer following the recently-announced Versys 1100 adventure bike.

The capacity of the ever-popular litre class Ninja SX rises from 1,043cc to 1,099cc but a host of updates and refinements are designed to keep it top of the supersport touring pack.

More torque across the rev range means less need to change gear so it gets longer-ratio fifth and sixth gears.

The bigger, torquier engine is also more fuel efficient.

Blending touring and sporting abilities, the quick-shifter now operates as low as 1,500rpm.

Long-distance comfort and convenience are boosted with a handlebar-mounted USB-C port as standard, electronic cruise control, power modes, cornering management, traction control and intelligent anti-lock brakes.

A bigger rear disc brake provides even better stopping power and it is shod with the latest Bridgestone Battlax S23 tyres.

A new upgraded SE version boasts Brembo M4.32 front brake calipers, master cylinder and disc rotors plus steel mesh brake hoses, an Öhlins S46 rear shock absorber with remote pre-load adjustment and heated grips as standard.

Both models get an updated version of Kawasaki’s Rideology app which allows riders to adjust settings, get machine information via their smartphone and see ridden routes on their phone screen. It can now also respond to voice commands.

A height-adjustable screen, colour-coded luggage options and Edition models boost its sport tourer credentials.

The Ninja 1100SX, priced at £12,249, comes in a metallic carbon gray mated with metallic diablo black.

The £13,999 1100SX SE is finished in emerald blazed green or metallic matte graphene steel gray, both mated to metallic diablo black.

They are due to arrive from December.
