You’ll warm to new hi-tech heated vest and gloves

POSTED: 30/01/2023

Are you a brave soul who rides all year round, whatever the weather? Or are you desperate to get back on your bike but are put off by the winter chill?

Either way, we’ve got some new products you’ll warm to and they will warm you too.

We now stock the latest Alpinestars heated clothing to help keep the cold at bay.

The Alpinestars HT Heat Tech Vest distributes perfectly-balanced warmth to your body with four heating panels on the chest, lower back and back of the neck.

It features a manual control, via an LED button, with three pre-set heat settings and an automatic heating control system, operated via the Alpinestars Heat Tech app, for optimum performance and comfort.

A high-performance 12v lithium battery, which fits into a special pocket, provides the power or the vest can be connected to the bike battery.

We sell heated mid-layer jackets but this is the first heated vest we’ve seen and, having tried one on, feel it is more comfortable, less cumbersome, allows more freedom of movement and short sleeves make putting your armoured outer riding jacket over it easier.

You can pair the vest with Alpinestars HT-7 Heat Tech Drystar heated gloves which also have three heat settings and can be regulated individually. They are also Bluetooth enabled so can be thermostatically controlled via the app. It also shows how much charge is left in the lithium battery.

We also have Alpinestars HT-5 and HT-3 gloves with three heat settings.

The HT-5 gloves are a textile waterproof glove with leather on the top of the fingertips while the HT-3 is a knit type material over the Drystar liner.

Daniel Williams, our parts, clothing and accessories manager, said: “Some people choose to ride in the winter so heated clothing is a great bonus for them.

“The heated vest and HT-7 gloves can be thermostatically controlled so they maintain the desired temperature you set via the app – just like your central heating at home or climate control in a car.

“The vest is ideal for people who ride all year round but will also allow other riders to go our earlier and later in the season when temperatures dip.”

We took delivery of the vests only a couple of weeks ago but sold one immediately so are confident they will prove popular.

The Alpinestars HT Heat Tech Vest costs £310. We currently have it in large and extra large but can get other sizes.

The Alpinestars HT-7 gloves are £370, HT-5 £310 and HT-3 £280.

We also have new Rev’It Liberty H20 heated and waterproof gloves. Priced £250, the Thermotronic system features four different heat levels.
