A growing passion for motorbikes led to a career change for Yasmin Pajak who has joined our sales team.
Yaz, as she is known, is living her dream as our new Royal Enfield specialist sales executive.
She had been self-employed with two businesses, looking after animals and walking dogs and working as a nail technician, but is now part of the Orwell Motorcycles family.
“I’ve had a love of bikes since I was early teens,” said Yaz who is also a fan of Ipswich Witches speedway team.
“I always wanted to have one of my own but put it off.”
About 10 years ago she decided the time had come to get a motorbike but while husband Roman did his motorbike test, Yaz had a baby instead!
“I had a newborn so I put it off. A couple of years ago, at the Copdock Bike Show, I booked my CBT and did it that month.”
She started on a Honda CBF125 and, after getting her full licence, now has a Suzuki Gladius.
Being self employed she worked on her own a lot but, once on two wheels, discovered the camaraderie of bikers, made new friends and learned more and more about motorbikes.
She saw our advert for a sales executive earlier this year, applied for the job, but just missed out to Charlie Lidderth, our Suzuki sales specialist.
We were so impressed with Yaz that when we wanted to further strengthen our sales team, and had another vacancy, we offered her the job.
“Everyone here is just so lovely and I can gain so much knowledge,” said Yaz.
“It feels like I’ve been here for years and everyone seems like family. I feel I fitted in straight away.
“We have a laugh and they’re always willing to help me. I just like to chat to everyone. Being self employed can be a lonely life.”
Her husband is between motorbikes at the moment having sold his Royal Enfield Meteor 350 but has his sights set on a Super Meteor 650. Meanwhile, Yaz’s current Royal Enfield favourite is the Guerrilla 450.
Her new role fits in well with family life with Roman and their daughter.
She used to work school hours and evenings but regular daytime hours gives a better work-life balance.
“It’s been a big change for all of us but I’m enjoying the routine of working days,” she added.
