All our hard work proved a winner at the East Anglian Copdock Bike Show.
We were awarded the trophy for best dealership stand, a first for the Copdock show.
We pulled out all the stops this year for the 33rd annual show at Ipswich’s Trinity Park Showground with an impressive stand which was more like a pop-up dealership.
With double our usual exhibition display area, and a new marquee bought specially for the event, we displayed about four times more clothing, accessories and helmets than last year. We also featured some special show bargains.
We took our fleet of demo bikes for a static display of Kawasakis, KTMs, Royal Enfields and Suzukis. Suzuki also brought its national demo fleet to our stand for test rides and showed off the new DR-Z4S trail bike and DR-Z4SM supermoto.
We were also joined by Trek-Trailers Suffolk, based at Sicklesmere near Bury St Edmunds, which had a good response for its motorbike trailers.
And some special social media stars – @bikerwithabag Jemma King, @the_all_year_motorcyclist Paul Herbert, @dob.bs Freddie Dobbs and @andreicbr69 Andrei Mitrea, the Ninja Biker – chatted with visitors and made videos for their platforms.
Our competition, to guess the value of a prize hamper of motorbiking goodies, raised £134 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. It was won by Scott Backhouse, one of our customers, whose guess of £249 was closest to the actual value of £243.41.
Sales manager Stefan Walker was delighted all our team’s hard work paid off. There was lots of interest in the quality stock, good sales and that trophy was the icing on the cake.
“It went extremely well. It’s more about getting our name out there as many people go to the show from outside East Anglia and do not always know Orwell Motorcycles are here and what we do.
“It was great to show our faces and all the brands we have in the showroom. Our stand was really impressive,” he said.
“We also had a few bikes sales as a result of the show in the following couple of weeks.”
Good weather brought out a big turnout with around 14,000 visitors attending the one day show which was about 3,000 up on last year.
We are already thinking about how we can make our stand even better next year to retain that trophy.
