Suzuki V-Strom’s new Tour de force

A new version of the Suzuki V-Strom 1050 packs extra capacity for adventure.

The £12,799 1050XT Tour comes with black, three-piece aluminium luggage as standard, saving £370 over buying the individual items.

The rugged aluminium top box and panniers add 112 litres of storage, boosting the practicality of the 1050XT which already includes a centre stand, hand guards, 12V socket and USB port, height-adjustable seat and adjustable screen.

A comprehensive suite of electronics includes two modes of lean-angle sensitive ABS, a three-mode traction control system, that can also be switched off, three engine power modes, cruise control, hill-hold assist and linked brakes. These brakes adapt to slopes and loads, optimising brake pressure to maintain control when braking downhill or carrying luggage or a pillion passenger.

Suzuki has also revealed new colours for its 2021, Euro 5-compliant V-Strom 650 and SV650.

The V-Strom 650XT, with spoked wheels, handguards, traction control and low RPM assist, gets a fresh version of Suzuki’s motocross yellow and a new white edition, complete with gold rims. The latter also has gold and black accents on the tank. New black and red and grey and blue versions are also available.

The standard V-Strom 650 will come in red, white and grey.

The middleweight naked SV650 will be available in gloss black with a gold frame, white with a red frame and wheels and black seat and matt black with blue frame and wheels.

The café race-inspired SV650X comes in gloss black with a gold frame and all-black exhaust and footrest hangers.

The new models arrive in dealerships from next month.
