Suzuki’s GSX-8T and 8TT modern retros have won a prestigious Red Dot Design Award.
The new retro-inspired bikes, sharing the same platform as the award-winning naked GSX-8S and faired GSX-8R, take design cues from iconic models from Suzuki’s back catalogue.
The 8T draws inspiration from the T500, down to the headlight, tank and seat style.
The 8TT is more than a subtle nod the 1979 GS1000S with stylish bar-end mirrors adding extra retro flair.
The styling is a blast from the past but the modern underpinnings include selectable traction control and power modes, colour TFT screen and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
The 8T is £8,599 and the 8TT £8,999 on the road.
The internationally-recognised Red Dot Design Award, established in 1955, evaluates products based on nine comprehensive criteria including innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological compatibility and emotional content.
The GSX-8T and 8TT were granted the award for the high evaluation of the precise transfer of classic visual features into a clearly-structured, modern aesthetic.
