Suzuki celebrates 25th anniversary of iconic Hayabusa

Suzuki has announced a special 25th anniversary edition of its iconic Hayabusa hyperbike.

The limited edition Hayabusa, priced at £18,599 on the road, is now available to order ahead of the 2024 anniversary.

It is available on 2.9% APR PCP and HP finance over 48 months with a £100 customer deposit until the end of January.

If you’re interested, be quick to place your order as fewer than 30 anniversary versions are available this year.

The first-generation Hayabusa, launched to rival Honda’s Blackbird, changed the game in 1999. Japanese for peregrine falcon, it was known as the Blackbird killer.

Now in its third generation, the 25th anniversary edition comes in head-turning glass blaze orange and glass sparkle black.

Standout features include:

  • Anniversary logo on the fuel tank and laser-etched into the twin exhaust silencers
  • Gold-anodised brake disc carriers and drive chain adjusters
  • Raised Suzuki lettering on the fuel tank
  • Standard-fit single seat cowl in addition to the pillion pad
  • New gloss black trim

The torque-rich, 1,340cc inline four-cylinder engine produces more cumulative power and torque than any of its predecessors.

A heavily-redesigned engine for 2021, with new pistons, conrods, crankshaft and camshaft, makes the current Hayabusa the fastest-launching one.

A comprehensive suite of electronics features three launch control settings, 10 traction control modes and three power modes, plus lean-angle sensitive ABS, three engine brake settings, cruise control, hill-hold, low RPM assist and easy-start.

Director Dave Willis said: “When the new one came out we sold quite a few of them. The Hayabusa certainly has a following.”
