Supplying and fitting tyres all part of our service

Need to replace your tyres ahead of the new season? We supply and fit big-name, quality tyres to make maintaining your motorbike properly simple and more convenient.

Dave Forster, parts, clothing and accessories manager, said: “A lot of people don’t realise that we can supply and fit motorbike tyres.”

The main manufacturers we use are Pirelli, Metzeler, Bridgestone and Michelin but we can obtain most brands for customers.

It’s all part of us being a one-stop shop for all your motorbike needs. It makes sense to have tyres fitted, if needed, at the same time as having a service or MOT test or getting your motorbike back on the road after winter. But let us know in advance so we can get the right tyres in stock.

“We do a competitive rate for supplying and fitting tyres and it’s convenient to get all your motorbike maintenance carried out at the same place and at the same time,” he said.

“Our specialist technicians are also experienced in working on motorbikes so can spot other issues, such as worn brakes, chains or sprockets, when removing a wheel to fit the new tyre.

“We can also advise on the best tyre options for your needs and suggest alternative tyres from personal knowledge and the experience of our customers,” he said.

He explained that fitting tyres on a motorbike was different to a car. A car is jacked up and the wheel removed after undoing four or five nuts. Taking the wheel off a motorbike can involve removing brake calipers and spacers which have to put back correctly.

A motorbike also has to be safely supported while the wheel is off. We have around 20 different paddock stands, to fit all the various bikes that pass through our workshop, to prevent them falling over or causing damage to the frame or other parts.
