Successful Suzuki demo days kick off riding season

Our first demo event of the year was a huge success with the latest motorbikes from Suzuki attracting much interest and generating plenty of test rides.

Star of the two-day Suzuki spring event at our Ranelagh Road dealership was the new GSX-8R sportbike.

The GSX-S1000GX sport crossover, with semi-active suspension, and more road-focused V-Strom 800RE were also popular test-ride steeds.

We also asked owners of special heritage and customised Suzukis to bring their pride-and-joy rides along for a display inside the showroom and on the car park.

We had nearly 20 bikes over the Friday and Saturday and asked our social media followers to ‘like’ their favourites. The three that attracted the most votes won prizes.

  • Sam Cook’s GT250 was the winner. He received a Team Classic Suzuki bodywarmer.
  • Second was Alan Moreton’s GT380 with the prize a Team Classic Suzuki T-shirt.
  • Wendy Hill’s GSX-R750 Barry Sheene replica was third. She received a Team Classic Suzuki bobble beanie hat.

The quiz winners were Lily and Ian who get a £25 Orwell Motorcycles' voucher.

Dave Wills said: “Both days were very busy. Friday was boosted by the organisers of Copdock Bike Show arriving to collect the Suzuki GSX-8S we have supplied for the charity prize draw.

“A lot of staff and customers lent us their special Suzukis which made a great display in the showroom and more bikes turned up on the Saturday.

“There were some really lovely bikes on display and a great buzz about the place.

“And the weather was nice which made you think the season had started.”
