James Cuttler has an extra special reason for being delighted to have joined our workshop team.
It has spurred our new service and warranty adviser to learn to ride a motorbike.
He’s been working in the motor trade for four years, always on the service reception side as an adviser. But, until starting at Orwell Motorcycles, he has worked in car dealerships.
He does not ride a motorbike but is now going to learn by doing a direct access course.
“I’ve always wanted to do it. My Dad has a motorbike and this new job has kick-started it for me.”
James, 24, from Martlesham Heath, is enjoying the change of working in a motorbike dealership and getting to know how the two-wheeler market works.
Ben Towner, one of our technicians, is his best friend and told him about the vacancy in our service department. It means they have reunited as work colleagues having been at the same car dealership for a short while.
“It was a new challenge and a progression,” said James, who is 24 this month.
“I’m enjoying it a lot. Every day is a learning curve but I like the challenge.
“The most important parts of the job are keeping customers happy and getting things organised.”
While learning all about our motorbike franchises and their servicing and warranty requirements, James can call on the experience of other team members.
“I’m working with some good people and we have a lovely customer base of people who pop in for a chat.
“Everyone works as a big team and it’s such a nice atmosphere to be in,” he added.
