Retro ‘Yellow Ball’ Kawasaki Z900RS SE selling fast

Kawasaki’s new retro Z900RS SE really is something special and it’s selling fast.

Within days of being revealed, we’ve already sold five of the limited-run models which get uprated suspension and brakes and the Metallic Diablo Black finish features the classic ‘Yellow Ball’ livery of the original 1972 Z1 Super Four model.

The Z900RS SE, priced at £12,499, is due to arrive in dealerships between January and February but only once a customer has placed a deposit.

Director Dave Willis said that, such was the reaction to this special Z900RS SE, if you did not order one quickly you would regret missing out.

“It will be a very exclusive model with limited numbers.

“The Z900RS is already a good bike and the SE version is only going to be better with its uprated suspension and brakes and this great, new colour scheme.

“Kawasaki has really cracked it with every colour scheme on the retro Z900RS.”

Based on the standard 111PS, 948cc four-cylinder roadster, launched in 2017, the Euro 5-compliant SE’s smart tribute paint job is set off with new red RS badging on the side panels, golden spoked rims and black covers for the fuel-injection system and sides of the radiator.

A new Öhlins rear shock, with a remote preload adjuster, aims to improve grip and handling. At the front, fully-adjustable golden 41mm upside down forks with revised settings are said to give a more balanced ride.

The brakes are also uprated and include new 300mm Brembo front discs and calipers.
