A big thank you to our customers who’ve made our charity raffle such a success.
We’ve been selling tickets in the dealership over the past month for the raffle in aid of UK-wide Mental Health Motorbike and Ipswich-based St Elizabeth Hospice.
Molly Mizon, our marketing specialist, and Kawasaki sales executive Stefan Walker, who knows someone who works for the Mental Health Motorbike, came up with the idea for the charity fund-raiser.
“It’s gone really well,” she said.
Molly will be making the draw this weekend (Saturday 3 August) so there’s still time to buy some tickets.
The raffle has raised more than £1,100 in ticket sales and, with a last big push leading up to draw day, money is still coming in.
Customers have also been putting their loose change in cash-collecting buckets in the showroom and at our recent demo day.
“Our customers have been so generous and willing to use spare money to support these two worthwhile charities.
“A lot of people have told us stories that relate to the work of the two charities – mental health and hospice care.
“Everyone can relate to an element of one or both charities,” she added.
We hope to hold another raffle in the future in aid of other deserving causes.
Mental Health Motorbike, a free support charity for the biker community, promotes the wellbeing benefits of motorcycling, provides a network for bikers supporting bikers and improves wellbeing within the motorcycling community.
Its ultimate aim is to reduce suicide among bikers by building a free, dedicated national network of trained volunteer mental health first-aiders who can support bikers and their families.
A priority is to get qualified mental health first-aiders in a bike shop or club in every UK town and city.
St Elizabeth Hospice cares for more than 4,000 patients and their families, living with a progressive or life-limiting illness throughout East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, annually.
It needs to raise around £12m a year and 70% of its funds comes via revenue streams and the community supporting its shops and fund-raising activities.
