We like to get behind local motorbike racers so, with the racing season here again, are supporting four riders.
We’re continuing our association with Corey Tinker, Fred Mcmullan and father and son Nick and Haydon Smith.
Corey Tinker has joined Josh Davis Motorsport (JDM), alongside retained Irish rider Adam Brown, for the 2026 Quattro British Supersport Championship, a support series to the British Superbike Championship.
The 20-year-old, from Copdock, is riding the team’s Ducati V2 after two seasons competing in Spain followed by a return to the series last year.
He said: “I’m excited to be part of the JDM family for the 2026 season. It’s going to be a big year for me where, hopefully, we can work well and bring everything together now I have a full year back in the BSB series after four years.
“Of course, the goal is to get some podiums.”
It’s the latest step in his dream of competing in MotoGP.
Fred Mcmullan, last year’s East Midland Racing Association Open 600 Champion, is concentrating on road-racing this year.
Fred, 19, of Leiston, is riding a Suzuki SV650 Supertwin and a new Honda CBR600RR built by Moto46.
He’ll be doing all four meetings at Oliver’s Mount road-race circuit at Scarborough, in Yorkshire, and will also race at the Cookstown 100 circuit at Country Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
Fred will also return to the East Midland Racing Association championship at Mallory Park, Leicestershire, after winning the Open 600 Championship last year on his Kawasaki XZ-6R.
The tight circuit is also good experience for his aim of applying for the Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man next year.
Nick Smith is concentrating mainly on British Motorcycle Racing Club’s Thunderbike Sport Class, a power-to-weight class for machines up to 2004, on a restricted Honda CBR600RR.
He is also doing a few rounds on the Kawasaki ZXR750 in North Gloucester Road Racing Club’s golden era superbike class and, hopefully, a couple of outings in France where there is a similar classic superbike class.
Son Haydon’s main focus is the new Bemsee Open 500 2-Stroke Class. He has switched from the trusty old Kawasaki ZXR400 4-stroke to a GP-spec Yamaha TZ250, depending on reliability, with Nick’s KR-1S as stand-in if needed.
He’ll also use the sister Kawasaki ZXR750 alongside Nick when he uses that.
At Bemsee’s first round at Brands Hatch, in Kent, Nick and Haydon were offered the chance to guest in the Yamaha past masters races on a pair on TZR250s and achieved decent results.
Nick’s best was sixth and Haydon managed a couple of fourth places. Haydon has also been asked to step in for an injured rider at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
Haydon came away from Brands Hatch leading the Open 500 Class with a pair of seconds and two wins on the KR-1S after the TZR snapped a rod and destroyed the crank of the dyno leading up to the weekend.
Nick had a second, two sixths and a fifth on the Honda 600. Problems with the slipper clutch saw results get worse as the weekend went on but this is now sorted for Oulton Park over Easter. It was down to a slight maths error when setting up the clutch!
