Our dealership may have been closed during the pandemic lockdown but our parts team was kept busy dispatching orders to customers.
Staff dealt with a host of orders which came in via phone, email and our website’s online shop so at least it was business in that department, if not as usual!
Dave Forster, our parts, clothing and accessories manager, said people, with lots of spare time during the lockdown, turned their attention to old bikes they had been planning to restore for a long time.
“It was a good opportunity for people to get to work on a project bike, or one they’d had for years and had always said they would get round to restoring.”
And our team was happy to help by posting parts orders out to the customers so they could get on with the job.
Our website also played a part in bringing in some business during this strange time.
Director Dave Willis said: “We got a lot of interest from the website with people asking about bikes and for quotes. And some of that interest turned into actual sales.
While the showroom was shut, we actually sold and delivered a dozen motorbikes to customers.
If you’ve not checked out the website for a while, give it another look. You’ll see what bikes we have for sale (new and used); you can make MoT and service enquiries; and you can browse the online shop for clothing, parts and accessories.
We’ve also taken advantage of being closed to upgrade our phone network to a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system so all outgoing calls are now made via the internet to avoid call charges.
We were going to have to change our phone system in a couple of years anyway so this was a good opportunity to get on with it. We had to iron out some initial ‘glitches’ but hopefully that’s all been sorted now – We’d like to thank you for your patience if you’ve experienced any problems.
