Our franchises are winners in MCN Awards

Everyone loves a winner and we are delighted all three of our franchises were honoured in the annual MCN Awards.

Motorcycle News crowned the Suzuki GSX-8R Sportsbike of the Year, KTM’s 125 Duke was 125 of the Year while the Kawasaki 7 Hybrid took the Innovation of the Year title.

It was the second win in a row for Suzuki’s 776cc parallel twin engine platform. The GSX-8R’s unfaired stablemate, the GSX-8S, won the award for best naked last year.

The world-famous motorcycling newspaper said the GSX-8R was ‘a glorious cocktail of sportiness and comfort’, ‘cracking fun to ride’ and ‘living proof that sportsbikes can be fun, comfortable and capable, without breaking the bank’.

MCN said ‘KTM’s staggeringly spec’d 125 Duke puts big bikes to shame’. The praise goes on – ‘it is light, nimble and very easy to live with’.

It concludes: ‘The Duke looks and feels a proper motorcycle, which means a lot, and now has a spec list to back this up’.

Looking to a green future, MCN said ‘Kawasaki’s bold hybrids lead the crusade towards environment-friendly biking’.

It summed up: ‘Kawasaki aced the innovation category: being brave enough to put a unique concept straight into production, and doing it well to boot’.
