New job in store for bike nut Grenville

Grenville Krinks is the latest member of the team but he’s no stranger to Orwell Motorcycles.

He has been a regular visitor to the dealership since buying his Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX Performance Tourer from us in 2020.

Now he’s joined the parts, clothing and accessories team as storeman, managing stock and posting web orders.

He has plenty of experience, having worked at a builders’ merchant where he got to know Richard Paine, now our general manager, when he became a work colleague and his manager there.

They got on well, with a shared a love of motorbikes and both Orwell Motorcycles customers.

Richard moved to Orwell and Grenville was delighted when he told him there was a job opportunity at the dealership.

Grenville, 63, is enjoying his new job at Orwell.

“I’m really impressed. It’s a good atmosphere here, it’s smart and it’s all about motorbikes.

“It’s a great place to be a customer and also to work.”

He started his riding journey on a Yamaha FS1-E in 1976 and went to a Yamaha XS250 a year later. Then he progressed to a shaft-drive Suzuki GS850 GN.

After a 28-year break from biking he went back to two wheels in 2010 with a Ducati 900 Supersport.

He also bought two old motorbikes – a Yamaha Virago and a Honda CB600F – and then a 1098 Ducati, to bring his fleet to four.

Now he just has his Kawasaki which does everything he asks of it.

He enjoys going to motorbike race meetings, has been to the Isle of Man TT a few times and enjoyed a track day.

Richard said: “He’s an absolute bike nut and a long-term customer here so, when the opportunity arose, he said what a brilliant way to spend his last four years of work.

“He’s very skilled at his job.

“We’re going to revitalise our online shop and Grenville is a very major part of that process.

“The demand for our website stock has been growing for the past few years and we’re now at the stage where we need someone who knows how to manage multiple items in the mailing system.”
