Memorable milestones for two motorbiking legends

What do Orwell Motorcycles and Oxford Products have in common?

Both have been serving the needs of generations of motorbike riders but they also have a lot to celebrate this year.

Both these legends of the motorcycling world are marking memorable milestones this year with important anniversaries.

Oxford Products is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Established in 1973, it has become a leading global supplier of motorbike and bicycle products.

This year also marks the 40th anniversary of former Orwell Motorcycles owner Ray Walters taking over the Dave Bickers motorbike dealership at Barrack Corner, in Norwich Road, Ipswich.

The actual anniversary is 1 September and so ‘Orwell Motorcycle Specialists’ was born.

The business also took on the Suzuki franchise in 1983 so we’ve also been presented with a Suzuki dealer award to mark our 40 years of service.

Orwell moved to its Ranelagh Road site in 2001 and expanded by taking on the Kawasaki and Yamaha franchises. We no longer sell new Yamahas but have continued to grow the business by adding the full KTM range of street and off-road motorbikes.

While we’re talking about 40th anniversaries, did you know that 1983 was also the year that Oxford Products launched its first heated motorbike grips? A huge number of riders have warmed to them over those decades.

We stock Oxford HotGrips, from £89.99 - these are available with Adventure, Retro, Sports and Touring grip patterns.

And we've now added the new HotGrips Pro, the latest evolution of Oxford’s vast range of heated grips.

Its first fully silicone grips, HotGrips Pro don’t have separate switchgear because each grip has its own internal temperature control unit, operated by a button with an LED light on the clutchside grip. The intelligent controller independently measures, and maintains, the desired temperature setting of each grip. Available in Adventure, Sports and Touring grip patterns, HotGrips Pro are priced at £199.99.

You can even buy heated 'overgrips' if you don't want to replace your bike's grips. View the full range in our online shop.

We have a close working relationship with Oxford and a comprehensive display of its popular products which are a big hit with bikers.

Its huge range of products encompasses everything which makes life on two wheels better including clothing, accessories, locks, luggage and much more.
