Mark achieves KTM technician training silver status

We take training our workshop team very seriously, to give your motorbike the attention it deserves, so we’re delighted that technician Mark Kimble has achieved his KTM silver level training.

Mark, who has worked for us nearly two years, completed the training at KTM’s HQ at Silverstone Park.

The silver level accreditation involved stripping and rebuilding five KTM engines, including the new 1390, 890 and two-stroke and four-stroke off-road range powerplants.

He also had to take suspension systems apart and put them together again.

Having completed the bronze training, which covers pre-delivery inspections and electrics, he will now start working towards his gold qualification.

That involves full training in KTM’s comprehensive electronics systems.

Our workshop team has wide KTM training with technician Ben Towner already trained to gold standard and Gary Greenslade, Jason Cooper, Kevin Russell and Chris Beedon having completed the bronze level.

Mark and Kevin also recently did Suzuki technician training while Gary, Jason and Ben are also Automotive Technician Accreditation-approved Kawasaki technicians.

One of the advantages of using a franchised dealer to service and maintain your motorbike is technicians are manufacturer trained, keep up to date with the latest technology and have to refresh their training regularly.

MOT examiners also renew their qualifications every year.

“Our three brands insist we have at least one accredited technician but we want to get all of ours as highly qualified as possible.”
