Lee Kirkpatrick has spent most of his life riding, working on and racing motorbikes. Now we’re delighted that he’s bringing all that experience to our workshop.
He’s been a technician, working on bikes professionally for 10 years, but has been into motorbikes since he was a small child.
“I got into riding through my father and used to help him with his bikes,” said Lee, 35, who lives near Bury St Edmunds.
He also does motocross, racing in the Eastern Centre Championship, and has just swapped his Kawasaki 450 for a KTM 350 SX-F.
He also used to do flat track racing on Indian motorbikes.
Lee, who is married with two sons, aged one and five, recently sold his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R road bike as he currently does not have time to ride it.
Before joining our team he was at a specialist dealer, working on custom bikes
Lee, who has already done his KTM bronze training and is now working towards the silver and gold standards, is also factory trained on a host of other brands including Norton, MV Augusta, Indian and Polaris.
“I have also always worked with Japanese motorbikes,” he added.
Lee fancied taking his career in a new direction, and spending more weekends with his family, and has quickly settled in at Orwell Motorcycles.
“I’m working with really nice people and customers and I like the variety of bikes. They’re not just the brands that we sell.”
