KTM has achieved its 20th victory at the iconic Dakar Rally with Red Bull Factory Racing’s Daniel Sanders victor of the 2025 event.

Claiming his first Dakar victory, he won five stages and led the rally from start to finish to win by nearly nine minutes.

And Dakar rookie Edgar Canet’s sensational debut saw him top the Rally2 category with four stage wins to finish an impressive eighth overall.

Luciano Benavides achieved his best-ever Dakar result, finishing fourth with two consecutive stage wins.

Sanders dominated the 2025 Dakar Rally, culminating with finishing sixth on stage 12’s 61km, mass-start special that crowned him overall champion.

From the outset, Daniel showed his speed and skill, winning the prologue, the opening stage and the ultra-tough 48-hour Chrono stage to take an early lead.

He won two more stages on his flawless KTM 450 Rally and never gave up his overall advantage, making him only the second rider ever to lead the Dakar Rally from start to finish.

Canet, the youngest ever Dakar competitor at just 19, dominated the Rally2 category with four stage wins, defending his lead from the second day to the end of the race.

Eighth overall on his debut Dakar was an extraordinary feat and he finished the rally 13th on stage 12 after being runner-up on stage seven and third on the prologue.
