KTM launches 690 Rally for long-distance off-road exploration

The new KTM 690 Rally, which takes the brand back to its Rally Raid roots, is due to arrive in showrooms this month.
KTM has just announced that the spiritual successor to the iconic 640 Adventure is priced £11,499 on the road.
Built on the proven 690 Enduro R platform, the 690 Rally evolves its dual-sport foundation with a clear focus on extended range, stability and long-distance usability.
A purpose-built rally tower with integrated windshield, rally-style headlight and navigation-ready layout creates a true rally cockpit.
Dual front-mounted fuel tanks boost capacity by seven litres to 20 litres for longer off-road range.
In the past, riders have turned the 690 Enduro R into rally-inspired long-distance machines by adding fuel tanks, towers and wind protection so the 690 Rally answers that demand with a fully-integrated, factory-developed package.
Production started in Austria last month ahead of the 690 Rally reaching KTM dealers in October.
The 79PS, single cylinder, 692cc engine produces 73Nm of torque and is designed for demanding off-road use.
A range of advanced rider aids includes multiple ride modes, including street, off-road and optional rally mode. The latter allows riders to adjust traction control and throttle response to adapts to terrain.
Fully-adjustable front and rear suspension can be tuned for different terrain and riding conditions.
There’s also a host of PowerParts for protection and enhancing the Rally Raid styling.
