Kawasaki retro ride ready to roar

Kawasaki’s blast from the past continues with the return of the retro W800 which we’re expecting to arrive late this month or early May.

It follows the success of the Z900RS, launched last year, which has proved a huge sales success throughout Europe.

Like the Z900RS, the W800 - a modern bike that looks like a 1950s BSA - comes in Street and Café versions.

It looks virtually identical to the previous version but the latest is said to be 90% new with a lighter, stiffer chassis, uprated disc brakes and an A2-compliant 47bhp 773cc parallel twin engine.

Sales manager Mark Trench said: “The Kawasaki W800 is another retro bike. It has been out of the range for a couple of years but is now back and Euro 4 compliant.”
