Kawasaki is boosting its adventure bikes range with a new Versys 900, the most sporting Versys yet.
The Versys 900 gets an all-new trellis frame and near 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution for light, agile handling. Sporty 17in wheels are shod with Metzeler ROADTEC 01 tyres.
The 948cc four-cylinder engine produces 122PS at 9,500rpm and 97.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm.
The screen has seven positions and seat height can be adjusted from 825 to 845mm.
It’s the first Versys with advanced rider assistance systems including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and blindspot detection. Emergency stop signal reduces the risk of rear-end collisions.
Smartphone connectivity gives access to a range of useful functions and a five-inch TFT full-colour display, which supports turn-by-turn navigation, has two layouts with the emphasis on engine information or navigation visibility and vehicle information.
The newly-designed 47-litre top case and two 32-litre panniers integrate seamlessly with the bodywork to maintain a sleek, sporty appearance.
SE gains quick-shifter, LED fog lamps, hand guards, heated grips, radiator guard, frame sliders, belly pan and centre stand.
Edition models are Tourer and Grand Tourer
Versys 900, in metallic spark black or pearl robotic white, is £10,899. SE, in lime green/metallic spark black or firecracker red/metallic carbon grey, is £11,799.
They will be available in April.
Kawasaki’s KLE500 adventure motorbike gets a new Smartride edition, reducing the need to use the clutch in stop-and-go urban riding, for 2027.
A compact self-engaging centrifugal clutch removes the need for delicate feathering when pulling away or using the lever when stopping. The mechanical system needs no electronics and the rider can still shift gears while riding using the clutch lever and shifter.
Smartride also gets tubeless tyres and a new 150/70/17 rear wheel which gives more tyre options.
KLE500 SE Smartride will be available from January in pearl blizzard white.
Kawasaki’s 2027 Ninja 650 sees the telescopic front fork replaced with an inverted Showa 37mm separate function big piston set-up for greater control and chassis stability, an uprated rear spring rate and new four-piston front brake calipers.
The front fender has been redesigned and a new 4.3in TFT colour display with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology App now supports navigation and voice command.
The £7,499 Ninja 650, in lime green or metallic flat spark black/metallic carbon grey, is available from December.
