The wait is almost over - Suzuki’s new KATANA will be at our showroom on Friday 10 May for one day only.
A pre-production version of the reborn sports bike, which Suzuki has revealed will be priced at £11,399, is dropping in as part of the national roadshow tour.
Supply is limited so, with early interest creating strong pre-orders, you need to be quick to get the hotly-anticipated Katana.
Sales manager Mark Trench said: “It’s going to be Suzuki’s big model for this year. With the growth in the retro bike market, and classic bikes, people are snapping them up.”
Its design pays homage to the iconic 1981 GSX1100S KATANA but the new bike is a thoroughly modern machine.
Powerful performance comes from a 148bhp custom long-stroke version of the 999cc, inline-four that first proved itself in the GSX-R1000.
A wide spread of torque and a new throttle control delivers this power smoothly, while the induction roar and exhaust note are tuned to heighten the riding pleasure.
A special Samurai accessory costs £99, saving £383 over the cost of the individual items. It includes a fly screen, red and black seat, carbon-effect front mudguard and engine covers, protective tank pad, wheel rim tape and red top fairing and seat unit decal.
The new KATANA is due to be launched at the end of May, it will then be available for test rides.
