There are still places left on Orwell Motorcycles Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride this month in aid of men’s health so sign up now.
The worldwide event on Sunday 17 May raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health.
This is the 15th year for the dapper charity ride which started in Sydney, Australia, in 2012. It has raised more than 60 million US dollars, with official charity partner Movember, and attracted 500,000 classic and vintage riders across 121 countries.
This is our second DGR ride and we have nearly 40 riders signed up. We hope to have up to 60, three times as many as last year.
We’ll leave our Ranelagh Road site mid-morning on Sunday 17 May, going through the town and into the countryside before finishing at Harvey & Co artisan bakery and café at Bentwaters Business Park at Rendlesham.
We’ll have a support van to help any riders with motorbike issues and plan a couple of regrouping stops along the route in case riders get split up in traffic.
Dave Willis said: “We’re hoping for nice weather as riders will be donning their tweed jackets and dapper gear for this worthwhile charity event.”
Riders already registered have so far raised more than £2,000 but we hope that total will rise in the run-up to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
