With the new V-Strom 1050 and 1050XT arriving in March, Suzuki has announced three accessory packs tailored to meet riders’ needs.
It’s also been revealed that the introductory launch price of the V-Strom 1050 is £9,999; £11,299 for the 1050XT. We’ll have a yellow 1050XT on our demo fleet by the end of February and will be launching the new model officially on Saturday 14 March.
The fully-loaded Explore pack equips the DR-Z-inspired V-Strom 1050XT with full aluminium luggage, engine bars, LED fog lamps, aluminium bash plate and heated grips. Ideal for those looking to cover higher mileage and rougher terrain, the £2,499 Explore pack saves £626 over the cost of the individual items.
The Tour pack, designed for weekends away, comprises full aluminium luggage and costs £1,299, a saving of £316.
The City pack, available only on V-Strom 1050, includes a spacious 55-litre top box and centre stand for £699, saving £147.
A lot of owners want to add a personal touch or tailor their V-Strom to their specific needs, these three accessory packs make it easier and more affordable too.
The V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050XT use an updated version of Suzuki’s 1037cc V-twin engine with 7% more power at 107PS. Both get three-mode traction control and three engine power modes. An enhanced electronics package on 1050XT boasts Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System with a six-axis inertial measurement unit. It includes lean angle-sensitive ABS with two settings, linked brakes that can detect and adapt to load and inclines, plus hill-hold control and cruise control.
Paul Macaree, our Suzuki ambassador who’ll be getting an early ride of the new 1050 V-Strom this month, said there had been a lot of interest in the uprated bike.
“There are a fair few people who want to know more about it and see it in the flesh,” he added.
