Kawasaki is looking to its new cruiser concept to live up to its name and eliminate the opposition.
The Eliminator name returns to the Kawasaki motorbike range in Europe for 2024 with a totally new model and concept with the tag ‘Just Ride’.
The distinctive urban cruiser, aimed at the mid-capacity A2 class, is powered by a new 451cc parallel twin engine delivering strong low-down and lively upper rev-range performance.
The engine is based on the one in the Ninja 400 and Z400. It is likely to produce 47PS and 43Nm of torque.
Kawasaki has produced various versions of the Eliminator since 1985.
The latest variant features an all-new trellis type chassis, 18in front and 16in back wheels and a low 735mm seat.
In a nod to previous Eliminators, the 2024 model has a tail unit reflecting the heritage of the brand family while twin rear shock absorbers aid the ‘traditional meets modern’ look.
It offers a natural, relaxed riding position and was designed to be passenger friendly.
It also has an assist and slipper clutch, six-speed gearbox and a chain drive.
Two colour options – metallic flat spark black and metallic matte carbon gray with flat ebony – have been confirmed.
The 41mm front forks have 120mm of travel and the twin rear shocks 90mm. Braking comes from single 310mm front and 240mm rear discs.
A relatively light weight of 176kg wet and adjustable seat height, from 715 to 765mm, bars and pegs mean the Eliminator will suit shorter riders.
The digital dash features smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app as standard.
The full specification, and a host of genuine accessories, will be revealed soon.
The Eliminator will be available from January, with a guide price between £6,600 and £6,800.
