Our Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was a delightful, dapper, dry day out for friends and customers.
After worrying weather checks with rain threatening to put a damper on our charity motorbike run, the sun shone on the righteous.
The second event we have organised for this worthy cause was a huge hit with dapper gents and gals who dressed for the occasion and raised more than £8,000 for men’s health.
The worldwide event on 17 May saw 63 riders meet at our Ranelagh Road dealership in Ipswich.
All dressed for the occasion, donning tweeds, ties, cravats and moustaches for that distinguished, dapper look at the heart of the worldwide event which raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health.
Dave Willis said: “The weather held up and our fears for rain did not materialise.
“It was great to see people dressed up and getting into the spirit of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.”
This was our second DGR ride and attracted three times as many riders as last year’s event.
Riders headed out of town with director Andrew Jay leading from the front and fellow director Dave Willis and wife Claire manning the van at the back in case of any incidents.
The route went through Tuddenham and Grundisburgh, skirted Woodbridge and on to Melton before finishing at Harvey & Co artisan bakery and café at Bentwaters Business Park at Rendlesham.
Three regrouping points along the route at Crown Place, Ipswich, The Fountain at Tuddenham and The Wilford Bridge at Melton allowed riders held up in traffic to catch up with the main group so everyone arrived together.
