Daniel Williams is a familiar, friendly face in our parts, accessories and clothing department.
Hardly surprising given that he’s been sharing his expertise with customers since joining us in 1998.
In fact, he joined the dealership when it was based at Barrack Corner in the town centre and is one of the few survivors who worked at our former premises.
And 21 years of loyal service confirms that, having always worked in the parts department, he has found his niche.
“It’s all about doing something you enjoy. If you’ve got a passion for motorbikes you’re talking about them all day.
“I still get up in the morning and look forward to going to work. I wanted to work in a motorbike shop because that’s what I know about.
“I wanted to be a mechanic at first but a parts job came up and I applied for it and got it.”
He even met Kathryn, his partner of 18 years, when she came into the current shop.
Still a relative youngster at 39, Daniel started riding motorbikes off road when he was about 14.
He’s still got his first bike – a Yamaha DT175MX – having bought it back after selling it. He also used to ride a Suzuki GSX-R600 for nine years.
He also owned a KTM EXC 125 enduro for nine years, and did some competition riding, but sold it to buy a mountain bike – another of his hobbies.
He’s also visited the Isle of Man several times to watch the Manx GP and Classic TT, and Southern 100.
Daniel doesn’t currently have a road bike but, now we’ve taken on the KTM street bike franchise for Suffolk, he fancies a 790 Adventure R.
“I reckon KTM are the best bigger bikes off road,” he said.
As well as his role in the parts department, Daniel is also our resident IT guru. He’s always been interested in computing and is an Apple authorised technician.
