Dale steps up to fill sales role as Paul retires

We had a little farewell party in the showroom for Paul Macaree with staff and loyal customers gathering to mark his retirement.

The Orwell Motorcycles team presented him with a watch and the Suzuki and Kawasaki UK teams also gave him watches… good job he has more time on his hands!

KTM UK gave him an off-road helmet, signed by the ‘KTM family’, wishing him all the best for a lifetime of weekends and a long, relaxing retirement.

Paul, who worked at Orwell Motorcycles for 10 years, donned tiara and sash and enjoyed a specially-made retirement cake with some of the many friends he has made over the years.

Dale Allaton, who joined us in May doing sales support and our social media feed, is stepping into Paul’s old role as Suzuki specialist.

Mark Trench, sales manager, said: “With Paul retiring, and we are very sad to see him go, it left us with an opening.

“Dale is perfectly placed to step into Paul’s shoes. He’s also taking over the role of Suzuki sales specialist.”

Dale, a customer for many years before joining our team, is no stranger to the Suzuki brand. He has also just bought a late-1990s Suzuki GSX-R750 SRAD as his daily ride for the winter.

Mark said: “We’re going to miss Paul. As well as being a great sales executive, he had a lot of friends, both staff and customers.

“He also took on the role of our elder statesman and always wanted to lend an ear when people needed someone to talk to.”

Happy retirement Paul.
