Our first exclusive Orwell Motorcycles trackday at the Snetterton circuit was a resounding success.
We limited it to 120 track riders, and filled all the places, but altogether more than 250 people went to the Norfolk circuit with friends and family watching the action.
Dave Willis said: “It was a really good day. It was a great success and we were glad so many customers turned up and enjoyed it too.
“We’ve had brilliant feedback from our customers. I had four people saying it was the best trackday they had ever done.
“It was a relaxed atmosphere. The staff at the circuit were great, the instructors were very friendly and useful and faster, experienced track riders were giving helpful suggestions to novice riders.
“A lot of our staff came out to the circuit as well which was nice.”
We restricted the number of track riders to 120, split into novice, intermediate and fast groups, on the 2.97-mile circuit and at a very reasonable cost of £169 each.
“There were only about 40 people on the track at a time so there was less traffic to contend with which makes things safer.”
There were a couple of spills but the riders were not hurt and the bikes not badly damaged.
“A lot of people had open track a lot of the time… until they caught up with me,” said Dave who joined the novice group on a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
“That was more than quick enough for me. A few people got away from me on the straights but a lot of the time I was following other bikes.”
We joined a trackday with some of our customers six years ago but this was the first time we’ve had exclusive use of a circuit purely for Orwell Motorcycles.
“Many of our customers are more road and track focused than doing off-road riding so we thought a trackday would be a good experience for them.
“There were a lot of very happy customers which was good.
“I can understand why people do trackdays. If you want to ride a motorbike to its full capacity that is the only place you can do it,” he added.
A raffle, with 20 prizes, raised £1,265 for Mental Health Motorbike. We will be contacting the raffle winners.
