Covid-safe launch has personal touch

We’re really looking forward to reopening our showroom on Monday 12 April and then staging our first Covid-safe, customer-friendly model launch a few days later.

We’ll be unveiling the new 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from Thursday 15 April to Monday 19 April but, to make sure it is safe and socially-distanced, it will be limited to only one customer at a time. That means you must register your interest to book an appointment.

Director Dave Willis said: “The 1290 Super Adventure S is a very popular choice with people who like to ride large adventure bikes.

“This event is a chance to see the new 2021 model and have some one-to-one time with the sales team. With the Covid-19 restrictions we can’t have people turning up in large groups.”

Sales manager Mark Trench added: “In the past, we’ve always invited lots of customers to the showroom for a model launch but this is the current Covid-friendly way of doing things.”

You can register to see the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S ‘unboxed’ at Orwell Motorcycles by logging on to www.ktm.com/en-gb/adventureunboxed.html or emailing the sales team.

The latest 1290 Super Adventure S is KTM’s sportiest and most technologically-advanced Adventure bike with a focus on keener handling.

A chassis overhaul enhances weight distribution and riding agility so it feels sharper through corners and more stable under acceleration. The versatile sports tourer’s semi-active suspension has also been tweaked.

Improved ergonomics sees a lower two-tier seat which can be adjusted by 20mm. A new, larger seven-inch TFT display is more intuitive with quicker, more practical menus. A new connectivity unit means seamless smartphone pairing.

A new generation of electronic aids has a less intrusive level of traction control in Rain, Street, Sport and Offroad modes and an updated, optional Rally setting. Adaptive cruise control system is standard for 2021.

All-new switches now include quick select and favourites buttons to allow set-up changes on the move.

The revised, lighter Euro5-compliant 1,301cc V-twin produces 160hp and 138Nm. It has an upgraded two-headed exhaust and a revised gear mechanism improves the optional Quickshifter+.
