Meet Bob Payne who brings his retail experience and knowledge of motorcycling to our parts, clothing and accessories department.
As well as riding motorbikes from a young age, Bob has worked in automotive dealerships for the past 20 years.
He worked his way up to management at B&Q, then worked at a builders’ merchants before joining a Colchester motorbike dealership.
After a spell in the parts department of a commercial vehicle dealership, he returned to the motorbike dealership to run its online parts website.
Now he’s enjoying a more forward-facing role, serving our customers after dealing with online requests in his last job.
“Most of the customers were online or internal for the workshop. There wasn’t a lot of face-to-face over-the-counter customers,” he said.
“And I’m used to dealing with customers, merchandising and keeping everything stocked and tidy.”
Bob’s claim to fame is that he is a member of the 200MPH Club having ridden his Kawasaki ZZR1400 at 207mph at a special meeting on the RAF Woodbridge runway in 2006.
He’s owned about 25 motorbikes, after starting on two wheels riding a Puch Maxi. His bikes have included Suzuki Hayabusas, Yamaha R1, BMW GS1200, Kawasaki ZX-6R and ZZR1400, Yamaha RD250 and a Suzuki X7.
He currently rides a CFMoto 650NK.
So, with all that experience and knowledge, Bob has fitted into our parts team really well.
