Women customers have another good reason to visit our parts, clothing and accessories department with the arrival of Belinda Dawson.
Belinda joins the team as we’re expanding our range of women’s motorbike clothing.
As a biker herself, she knows how important it is to have clothing designed for women that fits properly and is comfortable.
“There are more female motorcyclists coming through so it’s nice to cater for them and supply them with the right clothing as well as a motorbike.
“Most women, like myself, want to try things on because we are all different sizes.
“To be able to do a job like this isn’t a job. I love it. I’m enjoying meeting people and talking to them.”
She is also a fan of the MotoGirl ladies’ motorbike clothing brand we’ve just taken on and loves her jacket.
Belinda has plenty of customer experience having been in the retail trade most of her career working in a supermarket and doing sales and merchandising for a major electrical and technology retailer.
“The people I work with at Orwell Motorcycles are very experienced so I also like learning and getting advice from them.
“I’m hoping the MotoGirl clothing, and having a female in the parts department, will encourage more women to come into the dealership.”
Belinda passed her motorbike test three years ago with Suffolk Rider Training and rides a Kawasaki Z650. She lives in Ipswich with her husband who rides a Kawasaki Ninja 650.
She had a 125 in 2012 but did not ride much as she was doing triathlons but they stopped during the Covid pandemic.
“I decided it was time to get my motorbike licence. My dad had bikes when I was younger so it was in the blood.”
