You may have noticed a couple of new faces in our parts, clothing and accessories department.
We’ve expanded the department, now managed by Daniel Williams, with Alex White and Jordan Tournay-Godfrey joining the team.
This month, we’re speaking to Alex. Next month we’ll introduce you to Jordan.
Alex, 23, has been with us for three months and, as a keen motorcyclist, feels quite at home.
It’s a career change for Alex, who was brought up and still lives at Shotley - he used to be an IT technician, on call for site visits to repair computers at businesses.
The Covid pandemic put paid to that and, after a spell doing some labouring, Alex saw our advert for jobs in the parts, clothing and accessories department.
“I’ve always loved motorbikes and thought I would apply,” he explained.
Biking is in his blood - he got the riding bug from his father after going on the back of his Honda Blackbird when he was eight years old.
He currently rides a Triumph Speed Triple but has also owned a Suzuki GSR750 and Suzuki SV650.
“My first bike was a Honda CG125 which I inherited from my dad when I was 17,” he said.
“I love to work with bikes and talk bikes all day. It makes a change from talking about printers!
“I knew a lot about different motorbikes but now I’m learning even more.”
That said, his computer skills are still being put to good use at Orwell Motorcycles and he helps out with some technical support when staff are having IT issues.
You could say he has clicked with his new role with us!
