Believe it or not, it’s two years since we held a demo day at our showroom.
But, with life getting back to some sense of normality, we’re finally able to hold one again.
The test-ride event will cover all three brands – Kawasaki, KTM and Suzuki – on Saturday 9 October at our Ranelagh Road site.
Dave Forster, general manager, said: “It’ll be our first demo day since 2019 as the Covid crisis put paid to us holding any since then.”
Our friends from Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) will attend to take people out on pre-arranged test routes and promote IAM RoadSmart’s rider training.
“It’s really nice to have a proper event going on here again, especially as we’ve not been going to motorcycle shows.
“We’ve missed these events as much as the customers.”
On the subject of demo bikes, now is the time of year that we start to look at reducing the number of motorbikes in our fleet.
After our demo day on 9 October we’ll be selling demo bikes with the riding season coming to an end for many people.
We’ll also be selling some of our current KTM display bikes which have been kitted out with a range of accessories to show customers the wealth of products available. These motorbikes, which are brand new and have not been ridden, are a 1290 Super Adventure S, 1290 Super Duke R, 125 Duke and 890 Adventure.
This year’s demo bike fleet is not as extensive as normal because of supply issues leading to shortages of some stock. Demand is expected to be particularly strong for these well-maintained, low-mileage motorbikes which offer significant savings against the new price.
Sales manager Mark Trench urged people to get in touch as soon as possible if there was a particular demo model they wanted to ride or were interested in buying.
