This motorcycle is designed and developed in Austria, and assembled in India.

TFT Display & Connectivity
The H42 TFT dashboard takes prime position ahead of the rider, featuring a unique, specially-designed user interface to suit the compact screen size. The 4.2" screen made from bonded glass, the TFT screen also boasts a special coating and polarization to reduce glare and increase visibility in all lighting conditions. Riders can also access music, incoming calls, turn-by-turn navigation, and Ride Modes - with a USB port for device charging duties.
Bodywork
With an ergo triangle inspired by its trusted and beloved 690 sibling, the KTM 390 SMC R boasts aggressive bodywork and a compact 9L metal fuel tank that is perfectly styled to allow for easy, knee-down action. The bodywork is also made from proven, flexible, and long-lasting PP plastic material better suited for SuperMoto and aggressive riding.

Ride Modes
The KTM 390 SMC R gives its pilots a selection of Ride Modes to best suit whatever conditions they find themselves in. With STREET Mode activated as standard, a SPORT Mode is also available and is available to riders who wish to push the limits. All RIDE MODES are easily toggled in via the TFT display, along with ABS settings where applicable.
ABS
The KTM 390 SMC R boasts a Bosch10.3MB Modulator which is the brain responsible for its impressive ABS system. This enables standard ABS and a SUPERMOTO ABS option for more extreme riders.
LED Lighting
Tearing a deep gash into the night, the KTM 390 SMC R is equipped with powerful LED lights taken directly from the KTM 690 SMC R. Not only do these work when the world becomes dark, but they also provide improved visibility when navigating busy traffic or misty road conditions.

Ergonomics
With an ergo-triangle inspired by its bigger brother, the KTM 690 SMC R, the KTM 390 SMC R features an aggressive handlebar shape, upright seating angle, and generous space for easy on-bike mobility.
Seat
Taking inspiration from the KTM EXC range, but with added comfort for longer commutes or trips, the KTM 390 SMC R has a new 860 mm single-piece flat seat design for easy on-board mobility and getting low into an apex.
Footpegs
Grippy footrests ensure riders have an uninterrupted foothold when banging through the gears, or carving through some tight turns. These are also adjustable in two positions.
Frame
The design features a 2-piece construction composed of a steel trellis main frame with a pressure die-cast aluminum subframe. Not only designed for overall looks, the primary objective of the frame design is to enhance vehicle dynamics by augmenting torsional rigidity, improved agility, and enhanced feedback from the chassis on both tarmac and dirt tracks.
Swingarm
A gravity die-cast swingarm has been specifically developed for the KTM 390 SMC R, and provides a sturdy and durable platform for the rear suspension system. Featuring a direct shock absorber mount offset to the side, it creates additional space for the unique exhaust system.
Suspension
Upfront, a 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge fork with 230 mm travel keeps things in check, with adjustable compression and rebound in 30 easy clicks to easy adjustment. On the rear, any big hits are handled by a WP APEX Separate piston shock absorber with 230 mm of travel. The shock is also rebound adjustable with 20 clicks on the fly, while preload adjustment can be taken care of with a tool.
Wheels and Tires
The KTM 390 SMC R boasts spoked 17" wheels at each end, wrapped in Michelin Power 6 rubber measuring 110/70 R17 on the front and 150/60 R17 on the rear.
Brakes
Pulling out all the stops, the KTM 390 SMC R is equipped with a 320 mm radial brake disk and Bybre caliper upfront, with a 240 mm brake disk and single-piston caliper at the rear. These are supported by KTM's proven ABS technology for added safety - but the rear can also be disabled completely for added "SuperMoto-fun".
