Engine
Boasting the latest generation of KTM's LC4c engine, the KTM 125 SMC R features a compact, 124 cc single-cylinder powerplant, churning out impressive power and effortless acceleration.
This makes it ideal for charging through motorway traffic, or playing around in the parking lots.
ABS
The KTM 125 SMC R boasts a Bosch 10.3MB Modulator which is the brain responsible for its impressive ABS system. This enables standard ABS and a Supermoto ABS option for sliding action.
LED Lighting
Tearing a deep gash into the night, the KTM 125 SMC R is equipped with powerful LED lights. Not only do these work when the world becomes dark, but they also provide improved visibility when navigating busy traffic or misty road conditions.
Ergonomics
With an ergo-triangle inspired by its bigger brother, the KTM 690 SMC R, the KTM 125 SMC R features an aggressive handlebar shape, upright seating angle, and generous space for easy on-bike mobility.
Seat
Taking inspiration from the KTM EXC range but with added comfort for longer commutes or trips, the KTM 125 SMC R has a new 860 mm single-piece flat seat design for easy on-board mobility and getting low into an apex.
Footpegs
All-new, grippy footrests ensure riders have an uninterrupted foothold when banging through the gears, or carving through some tight turns. These are also adjustable in two positions.
Frame
The new design features a 2-piece construction composed of an all-new steel trellis main frame with a pressure die-cast aluminum subframe. Not only designed for overall looks, the primary objective of the frame design is to enhance vehicle dynamics by augmenting torsional rigidity, improved agility, and enhanced feedback from the chassis.
Swingarm
A gravity die-cast swingarm has been specifically developed for the KTM 125 SMC R, and provides a sturdy and durable platform for the rear suspension system. Featuring a direct shock absorber mount offset to the side, it creates additional space for the unique exhaust system.
Suspension
Upfront, a non-adjustable 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge fork with 230 mm travel keeps things in check, while a WP APEX Separate piston shock absorber also boasts 230 mm of travel, with preload adjustment possible.
Wheels and Tires
The KTM 125 SMC R boasts 17" wheels at each end, wrapped in Michelin Power 6 rubber measuring 110/70 R17 on the front and 150/60 R17 on the rear.
Brakes
Pulling out all the stops, the KTM 125 SMC R is equipped with a 320 mm radial brake disk and Bybre caliper upfront, with a 240 mm brake disk and single-piston caliper at the rear. These are supported by KTM's proven ABS technology for added safety - but this can also be disabled completely for added "fun".
